Milltek Sport Gears Up for Autosport International 2017

Milltek Sport Gears Up for Autosport International 2017: click to enlargeRespected British exhaust manufacturer Milltek Sport has announced plans this week to exhibit at the Autosport International show at Birmingham’s NEC between the 12th and 15th January 2017.

Taking an impressive position in Hall 8, Stand 8540, the Derbyshire firm will be attending for the 12th time, and as ever, will be using the show to remind enthusiasts and racers of its impressive back catalogue, as well as a raft of exciting new technical developments and cutting edge products that will be seen for the very first time, along with the latest addition to the Milltek fleet, the VW Golf Clubsport S!

2016 has been a great year for the well-established firm, with expansions into overseas export markets taking advantage of the weaker pound, as well as a range of highly developed and extensively-tested new systems being made available for a wide range of popular tuner cars, including the hottest of hot-hatch properties like the Ford Focus RS and Civic Type R, as well as the new generation of super-saloons like the BMW M2. Many of these recent designs will be shown at ASI 2017.

Having invested heavily in a demonstration and evaluation fleet of these new cars, Milltek’s latest range of systems enjoys a ‘real-world’ testing programme that few other manufacturers can match. All of Milltek’s designs are tested in both the lab and dyno environments, before being moved out into dynamic testing on the road, as well as on demanding circuits like the fabled Nurburgring Nordschleife. Each system has to be able to withstand the very harshest and most critical of drivers, hence the firm’s continued involvement with driving ambassadors BTCC and GT ace Tom Onslow-Cole and rapidly rising Tin-Top and now Endurance Star, Lucas Orrock.

2016 has also been a great year for Milltek’s motorsport development programme, with German VLN success adding to an already impressive list of championships and club series that the brand is involved with. Higher up the chain, BTCC teams like Motorbase and the immediately impressive Team BMR Subaru outfit both relied on Milltek’s craftsmanship and quality throughout the 2016 season, and the company will be using the Autosport Show to announce its exciting latest technical partnerships and continued associations within both race series moving into 2017.

Using the lessons learned at the very top table of motor racing, many will be looking to inspect Milltek’s recent cast downpipe technology and ‘Hollowtek’ silencer designs – which both take production and design in the aftermarket to a level which now eclipses all but the most exclusive of OEMs. In addition, Milltek’s now well-proven range of ‘Valvesonic’ switchable-flow systems will also be on show. With full OEM electronic integration, these cutting-edge designs are a great indication of the firm’s burgeoning ambition to be a true market innovator.

As one of the longest serving brands in the UK market place, Milltek is also enjoying great success with its Milltek Classic range, aimed squarely at the rapidly appreciating list of classics like the Mk1 and Mk2 Golf GTi, the seemingly unstoppable 205 GTi and neo-classics like the E36 BMW M3. These are ‘collector quality’ systems for concours purists and discerning tuners that wish to either augment the value of a cherished classic, or simply improve its aural and dynamic performance.

Commenting on the 2017 show, Milltek managing director Steve Pound said, “We are very excited to get back to the NEC and show both dealers and end-users our superb new range of products. The market is in such a great place at the moment, with a glut of superb new tuner cars, motorsport in rude health – and a classic market that seems to grow on a daily basis, so we can’t wait to unveil our latest designs and talk about our 2017 motorsport campaigns. We look forward to welcoming friends, old and new onto our stand.”
