The exhaust note is perfect and surprisingly for a non-resonated system there was no drone in the cabin which was a super +++. Performance wise, the car's response was rapid and extremely smooth. I've already spread the word to my VAG mates
British exhaust specialist, Milltek Sport, has announced details of its new range of exhaust system options for Volkswagen’s much-loved workhorse; the T5.

The T5, like all Transporter and Camper models that have preceded it, has gained an international cult-following that transcends all genres and classes; it doesn’t matter whether it’s a basic panel van, a people-carrier, a luxury camper or anything in between, everyone loves the T5 and owners enjoy personalising and caring for their beloved vehicles.

Since the T5 was launched in 2003, we’ve received many enquiries from owners wanting to personalise their vans and make them stand out from the crowd with a genuine performance-enhancing exhaust system. To meet the varying customer needs and preferences, there are a number of options to choose from. Firstly, to silence or not to silence; you can choose the Particulate Filter-back system with a centre silencer or a centre silencer bypass pipe. This controls the amount of sound that enters the cabin under load. However, Milltek’s technicians have worked hard to ensure that at motorway speeds, the interior noise levels are just a touch above those of the OEM system and remain completely unobtrusive.

Secondly, you can choose between the gorgeous Twin-Oval Jet tailpipes or the Discrete option which hides the tailpipes underneath the rear bumper like the standard exhaust system for the ultimate stealth upgrade.

For all versions of pre and post-facelift models of the T5, including the 1.9, 2.0, 2.5 and BiTDI 2.0, the system can be ordered as a Particulate Filter-back which retains the standard catalyst and diesel particulate filter (where fitted) and requires no modifications to fit.

For owners of the post-2010 facelift 2.0 BiTDi 180bhp model looking for maximum performance and improved fuel economy, there’s the DPF-delete pipe which removes the restrictive particulate filter. Removing the DPF does require an ECU-upgrade but it brings with it a much peppier throttle response with improved acceleration across the board. Currently the DPF-delete pipe only fits the 180bhp model but Milltek are developing a range for other models over the coming months.

Regardless of the options chosen, the system is based around a 70mm mandrel-bent construction and is hand-finished entirely from non-magnetic stainless steel and comes with the knowledge that Milltek Sport has earned a reputation for peerless build-quality and reliability over the past 30 years.

Milltek actually runs their own T5 SWB 2.0 BiTDi 180bhp as part of their Fast Fleet and have undertaken many hundreds of road and development miles to ensure that this new exhaust offers exceptional power gains combined with the perfect exhaust note, both under load and whilst cruising at speed.
